Art Basel Hong Kong // 2024 edition

The 2024 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong, which took place from March 28 to 30, was a highly anticipated event in the art world. This year, it attracted an impressive 75,000 visitors, highlighting Hong Kong's significant role in the global art scene and fostering connections within the international art community. It was truly delightful to witness the participation of Australian Galleries like Station, showcasing remarkable works by talented Australian artists Shireen Taweel and Daniel Boyd. Reflecting on my experience at this year's fair, I sincerely hope it serves as an inspiration for you to join me at the upcoming Art Basel in Basel, commencing on June 13th.

Conversations WITH NATURE

Maison Ruinart unveiled the 2024 Carte Blanche.

// The Champagne houses' strong connection to art and nature inspired the launch of their new 2024 Carte Blanche, featuring the collective works of six artists who share a deep bond with nature. We were thrilled to attend a portion of Conversations with Nature, displayed at Art Basel Hong Kong, highlighting the relationship between water and sound. Tomoko Sauvage's work, focusing on the sound effects of bubbles after years of study, was truly captivating. Through altering the water's surface and using hydrophones, she creates a harmonious blend of organic and electronic sounds.

Station

my gallery pick: Hanart TZ

// I was really impressed with Hanart, a local gallery based in Hong Kong. Their selection for the fair really caught my attention, and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us in Basel this June!

I hope you enjoyed this insight into the world of Art Basel, and I hope to see you in Basel this June.
